Got an interview request from Amazon for Sr. Digital Marketing Manager. I have been interviewed by and worked for multiple big names like Mcafee, Meta, Microsoft but never by Amazon. I’m wondering how’s their hiring process, what kind of questions and tasks are waiting for me, how many steps are there etc.

McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

McKinsey recruiter asked me how much I make, I responded I can’t disclose the information and nicely told him the range I’m seeking based on a various factors (it was m against their policy to ask, and illegal in the state I lived in). He didn’t pass my resume to hiring manager.
I’ve got a cringe one “if you had to be a part of production would you prefer to be behind the scenes, the costume designer, or the director?” i kid you not
