That might be my top 5 of NYC movies
+1 for After Hours.

French Connection. Gritty NYC in the 70’s.
That was filmed in Astoria. Still great
Rising Star
Yes. NYC consists of 5 boroughs: Manhattan, Queens (where Astoria is), Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island
Godfather II, the scenes in Little Italy. Coppola took over some blocks in the East Village to take it back to 1917. He was obsessed with getting it right and having the streets go into the distance and not end in a T as they do when shot on a backlot. Also worthy, Mean Streets. There's one shot that's fun, they're in a car in Little Italy and go around the corner and they're on Eighth Street. Doesn't matter, still great.
Oliver & company
For pure NYC, and ignoring the creepy factor, hard to beat Woody Allen’s “Manhattan.” The damned opening with Rhapsody in Blue, all by itself, unstoppable—just like the city itself.
Not as good of a movie. But 25th Hour fills that 2000s New York vibe for me. The monologue towards the end is great too.
