How much would my tech stack and language be a factor in getting selected in faang or good product based companies?
I'm asking from getting my resume selected to getting an offer.
I read everywhere that only DSA and system design is needed, but I'm still concious about my tech stack.

Unlimited as an entry level associate
Unlimited. Usually I leave around 4pm regularly or take a Friday off and not much more. Rarely full weeks but that's me personally and not a reflection on the firm or work culture just how I like to do it.
“Unlimited” but make your yearly billable requirement. I generally take one 2 week vacation and multiple long weekends per year.
I work for state government. 4.33333 hours of annual leave accrues every pay check, and 5.2 hours of sick leave. Annual leave per check increases with years of service. We are encouraged to take leave as much as possible. We can only carry 225 hours (30 days) of annual leave per check.
“Unlimited” PTO once I became an Associate. I probably end up taking 3-4 weeks off with one or two weeklong vacations and other days here and there. I previously worked for the firm as a paralegal while attending law school at night and we had 10 vacation days (increased with tenure), 5 sick days, and 2 personal days. Small (<10 lawyers) plaintiffs’ PI/Med Mal firm in New England.
Omg, I wish. I think I’ve take about 7 days this year. Crying
10 vacation days per year and 10 fixed holiday days (I.e. thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). No paid maternity leave and no sick time for attorneys. We can work remotely if we are sick. The firm never closed or went remote for Covid. I’m at a medium sized firm in Nevada
Good g_d. Your firm is inhumane
We get 3 weeks and 2 days of PTO for sick days and vacation days to use a year with rollover option.
First year I had 5 weeks, after that unlimited. PI associate and I have my own caseload.
Attorney 2
I get salary plus a percentage but I agree with your reasoning, especially when I have surpassed my annual goal with months left before the year ends.
3 weeks PTO no sick days. Work from home costs PTO.
F*ck that. What *ssholes.
Officially it’s 4 weeks combined PTO/sick days, however you want to use them. But the firm doesn’t track and in no universe could I use all of that in a year (typing this from the office on a Saturday morning).
It’s unlimited.
