What’s your company’s mat leave? If I calculate my mat leave, including stat pay from the gov, I’m looking at the first 6months fully paid with the rest of my time off unpaid. Is this on par with other firms? Can we make this better?

How many PTO/Vacation days do you usually take off a year if your employer offers unlimited PTO/Vacation days?

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

A partner just walked from his office. By passed 4 or 5 people who are generally more knowledgeable on our banking logistics straight to the only black support staff employee to@ask if today is a bank holiday.

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t be necessarily grow my network, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

i left deloitte risk advisory due to personal reasons in sep 2021 (time off since july 2021) as the work got a bit much and my situation at home was complex.

i applied for a snr consultant role in consulting (strategy & ops, indus. redesign & innov.) and saw my app. got shortlisted. this role looks more suited for me and im super interested in it, more so than my prev. exp at D but you never know haha. whats the process like/how likely will i progress?

Will base jump from 120 - 145 make a significant difference in my saving? Offer has significantly less PTO and a lower 401k match. 32F with 400k saved, interested in buying a home soon in HCOL.

How do you interview for jobs while on project? I’m working consistently 9am-11pm with little ability to take vacation.

What has been your greatest challenge this year and how have you overcome?

Any meetings for ad people in la? I find no one really understands how we work in normal aa meetings. They find it suspect when I’m at work till 10pm every night for 3 weeks.

just hit 1 year of sobriety. only went to one AA meeting my 1st week of getting clean, but tired of strong-arming it and feeling the need for community lately - good meetings in downtown nyc or bk?

4 years sober today. So much to reflect on, not least of which how important it is to “get comfortable getting uncomfortable”. In my experience, it’s truly the only way forward.
