Better. I also have time to exercise in the morning before my shift :)

likefunny

Yes! It's just so nice being able to squeeze in a workout, throw in laundry

It’s a joke, I barely work 15 hours a week now that I don’t go into the office

For me it's gotten better. I'm more productive during my working hours, then shut off completely when I'm finished. Including communication apps

like

Better overall. I get more work done, and I have time to focus on my side projects etc and dedicate to that. I work more now, but for myself so I think it's better

This is exactly what I want to be able to do. Need permanent remote

Better in most ways, but not all. I love the flexibility, but I also find it harder to cut off work, so I tend to be on more hours than if I was in an office.

like

Literally 5-7 meetings a week.

Not having to sit in traffic helps immensely

For me it's gotten better. And honestly I'm saving a ton of money in gas, which was a financial perk I didn't really think of at first.

Way better. How about for you OP?

So, the CDC removed the Covid guidelines. I’ve never had Covid. I’m afraid people will come into work not wearing a mask and be inconsiderate… ughhh so distracting and disgusting. I’m also at risk to develop complications. Not sure if I should talk to HR. Not even sure if I should ask for accommodations to continue being able to wfh at least most days of the week to reduce risk. Idkkkk 😩This is so unprecedented. I always wear my mask at work. I’m getting pressured to attend firm events as well

Previous company - bad work life balance, current company - bad hikes and bonuses which doesn't even cover the basic expenses.

I recently took up a Customer Success Manger role at a engineering software company. Previously I was a Project Manager at the same company but wanted to move out of my engineering services role. I primarily took this role hoping to get exposure to providing SaaS services as company is transitioning at software cloud. My long term goal is to move into tech as my current customers are mostly in O&G. Is customer success a good entry point go get into one for the big tech companies?

Tech company lay offs….are they soon to be inevitable?!

There is lots of companies really taking a hit in the tech space. Is this something that people are nervous about? Many seem to still be having a hiring push but with the button falling (IMO this is still just start we have a long way to go to bottom out) will that halt and layoffs ensue? And if so, which depts do you think will get hit the hardest?

Anyone have insight to what the plan is at UpStart for example?

How much of a pay cut are you willing to take to (hopefully) re-find purpose in your job?

My Context: work in tech, company has HQ in the Bay but I live in Canada. Single, no kids, 1 mortgage, no debts.

TC: ~200k USD (60% base / 40% equity). I put very low effort, completely disengaged and unmotivated, with anxiety building up. Don’t like the company, but very few companies can match where I live

I’m being offered ~110k to work more, better title, fun project and company
