I have applied to several positions up Google. I have not heard anything back at all. No matter if I customize my résumé to the job description I still don’t hear anything back. I am wondering as to why Google ghost people instead of just telling them that they didn’t get the job? Do people on Google believe it is appropriate for the recruiters just a ghost people especially if they feel they don’t match the job?

A good rule of thumb for knowing when it's time to leave a job is when you just don't see any opportunity for advancement. If there's no open road ahead of you, and you're stuck essentially repeating yourself, it's time to get serious about looking elsewhere. There can be other things that will prompt you to get looking for another job, but feeling like you've been pigeonholed is the one I've felt the most.

Unless it's a really toxic environment, I usually just leave when I have to. Like if I move or have other circumstances that push me to go elsewhere. So I would guess it comes naturally.

I try to always start looking a little bit before I’m actually ready, I’ve had it in the past where I haven’t started looking until too late and I’ve felt trapped in my job, I think it’s good to get it done with early.
That’s interesting - is there a point you hit before where you start having a look around?
