When is the best year to lateral from big law to another firm or in-house? I am five years in and starting to get weird vibes and don’t really know what to think or do. I am instinctively paranoid but kind of wondering whether I ride it out for a couple more years or if I should start the exit plan now. I have plenty of work, people will work with me, and my hours are decent so I don’t see getting fired but the partnership track seems to be getting longer and longer.

Her role is 30% technical, 70% business (meaning she has good problem solving and stakeholder mgmt skills).

My experience at Google made her interested in joining the company, but we never really acted on it.

Hi everyone, I got hired on as entry level sales operations role back in January. It quickly turned into sales, and eventually all the sales for the small company once the head of sales left. I am happy to take on the additional role for my company, and they are going to let me. But they feel that without multiple people in a sales department the title head of sales might not be the best title. I have input in what my updated position title and salary would be. I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. This was a somewhat good move for me until I consider missing out on commission each month that was more than my salary. (£25k salary, over £2k per month commission)
