Absolutely not. And I wouldn’t share.
They'll want to know. You can share if you like. But it's none of their goddamn business if you don't want it to be.

Don’t think so. And take it one step further. Block the toxic ones on all your social media and your cell phone. No need for toxic people in your life. I felt I basically had PTSD from a toxic boss before so completely wiped her from my life.

Sounds like we had similar bosses. It was honestly so freeing to block her everywhere. And I couldn’t wait to tell her when I quit and found a new job. I honestly think she could be bi-polar, the way she acted.

from what i understand, only if it puts you in direct competition.
for example, our main client is an automotive brand. someone put in their two weeks, saying they were leaving to work at another agency on a competing brand. they were required to leave immediately, that day, since there would be a conflict of interest.

No. If someone asks, say you don’t want to say right now, but will update your LinkedIn, etc once you’re there.
“You have to tell us where you’re going.”
“I’m not ready to announce it yet. But I will be letting everyone know soon.”
“We need to make sure it’s not a competitor.”
“Oh we’re all good there. Definitely not a competitor.”
“You have to tell us.”
“I’m not ready to announce it yet. But I will be letting everyone know soon.”
Aaaaaand... scene.

^ exactly this
I don’t think you legally need to but like you mentioned usually in the exit interview and/or exit survey they will ask, if not asked by various coworkers prior. What’s your concern with them knowing?
At a previous agency, my manager got super upset when I resigned bc she had been withholding a promotion and I didn’t accept her sudden offer for higher pay when I resigned. She demanded to know where I was going and I was worried she might ruin my new opportunity so I said no I can’t disclose. Also my teammates gossip and say bad stuff about folks when they leave, I worry someone will reach out to the new company.
You don’t have to but you’re a manager and leader ship will want to know so they can be sure you’re not going to a competitor.
Unless you have agreement that says otherwise, nope. I don’t ever tell anyone where I’m going. No need to make it unpleasant; if someone asks, just say, “I’d prefer not to say.” And leave it at that.
When they ask, instead of just saying no I won’t answer, give them something. Name the industry or your new title. If they’re smart they’ll understand you gave all the detail you wanted to give and drop it.
You don't have to do anything not in your contract, and even then there's a risk/reward to violating those.
You don't have to tell anyone a damn thing. Honestly. None of their business. Deflect. You're all good.
You don't have to tell anyone your business. If anyone asks you, you tell them that you're not disclosing it just yet. Period.
