I'm sorry to hear that. Don't do anything quickly when you are feeling like this. Set a small goal that you can accomplish, and achieve it by Friday.
Are you off next Monday? If not, take a sub day and find a way to get some rest.
Tuesday, you can consider making bigger changes, but not this tired and frustrated.
We've all been there, it really sux sometimes.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I haven't had this experience yet, but I would be seriously considering changing careers if it became a regular occurrence. Given that it's only been two weeks, I'm hoping that there's a chance it'll pass and you'll rediscover your love of teaching. If you get a few months or even a semester in with no sign of things changing, it's probably time to start considering your exit strategy.
Indica! 😴 💤
If it is really your job keeping you from sleeping then it may be time for a change. Perhaps moving from a middle school to a high school. Middle schoolers are sometimes difficult to work with, especially with puberty onset and hormones. What specifically about work is bothering you? Maybe you can address the specific issue, instead of generalizing it as "the job." Whatever you do, prioritize your well-being and your health because not sleeping can make you sick.
I have been sleeping between 30 minutes and 2 hours a night! I am exhausted! But the work amount is crazy!
Sorry to hear that. I have times when I wonder if I'm really just wasting my life in this job, but thankfully those episodes are fleeting. I also have concerns about problems with the government, but so far we've been relatively immune from any real bullying. I have been thinking of making a plan to move on to something else beyond teaching, and perhaps this year will be when I finally make a decision and get moving on that.
Just take the Oklahoma Teacher Loyalty test that was bandied about and you will be fine. And, take a bubble bath. I'm told self-care will solve everything.
