When you get really frustrated at work how do you calm down and make sure you don’t lose your cool? I have to take a walk.

I will walk away physically as you do but then I have to remind myself I am at work to make money to live and not because it’s the whole being of my life.
I try not to let things at work bother me since my sole purpose there is to earn a living to fund the life I want to have outside of it.

Love that mentality. That’s the right way to think about it

Taking a walk is always good. Even if it's a lap around the offices. If I get really annoyed I'll just try to tune it out somehow and think about something else for a bit. Just breaking my concentration can be useful. Attending to a task other than whatever is making me crazy is sometimes the best solution. Busywork for the win!

Haha I like that, go find a remedial task to take my mind off it

I have to physically get away from whatever the situation is, sometimes people related, sometimes just me and my work space. Going to get a drink, bathroom, or just a lap around the place helps me to get out of the moment and calm down. Doesn’t happen often thankfully, but good to have some kind of plan when it does.

Yep I’m in the same boat. Thanks for sharing

I too often take a walk. Or I'll work on another task that's a bit simpler.

Heading into 2023, here are some phrases I'm eliminating:

1. "No worries."
2. "No problem."
3. "Sorry to bother you."
4. "Does this make sense?"
5. "Sorry, I'll fix that right now."

Here's what I'm replacing them with: ⤵
1. My pleasure.
2. Of course, happy to help.
3. When you have a minute, can I get your opinion on ____?
4. Does this help you clarify things?
5. Thank you for catching that!

Words are powerful.

Use it wisely.

Never sell yourself short when you know you have good intentions
