My wife and I are moving to Boston from overseas (we’re from Italy and we’ve recently won the diversity visa green card lottery).

We are looking to rent a 1BR starting in January, ideally for ~$3k/month. I’ll be working in the downtown area.

Do you recommend we go for a serviced/luxury apartment (e.g. Montaje, 345 Harrison, etc.) or hire a broker to get a “normal” apartment?

Any managed buildings recommendations within our budget? Also, what are some good brokers we could work with?

An investment related query. I'm drawing 1 lac/month salary currently and serving notice period with lwd-26-Aug. So, do I need to show all the investment proofs that I declared here as it's only been 5 months in the fiscal year and PPF of 1 lac would make the 5 month salary (5 lacs) non-taxable, right? Can someone point me to some material where I can read about profit sharing vs 401k. I get the concept, but I am trying to understand is 10% profit sharing vested over 5 years better than an employee 401k match of 6%?
