But a recruiter in what field I'm not sure I even want to stay in the accounting world.
I hate accounting I want to be a chef but I like nice things
Talk to recruiter
Uh to get more $ talk to a recruiter. When you're at your new accounting industry job you'll have free time to contemplate a change of career paths.
Have you done the Gallup test yet? I would start there if you're not even sure finance is an industry for you. I'm in the same boat and I know a general area of what I want to do, but struggle with picking a specific job. Try a likes/dislikes list and see where that leads you.
In complete seriousness - take a gap week/month/year to do soul searching if you could. Talk to your parents and ask what you wanted to do when you were a little kid. I personally wish I had the opportunity for a gap rather than going school - job without really thinking. Maybe you'll find culinary school fun and turn out to be the greatest baker of all time
I would suggest starting with a finance/accounting recruiter. They will have the most experience in placing people with your background. Most likely, their firm will have other recruiters who specialize outside of acctg/finance and they will be able to direct you to right person/opportunity.
Fair enough.
