Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
Any Gayglers (Gays @ Google) here?

I would use the tool in BetterYou or ALEX to estimate. I have many specialists, regular blood work, medications, possible urgent care visits, etc. So both tools told me the premier plan would be best, so that’s what I’m doing. Both tools will show you the expected cost to you for each plan as well so you can decide whether you need a plan with a low deductible or you can get away with a HDHP for the HSA. Also depends if a medical emergency happens on like January 2nd, how much cash could you pay out that day?
I second this suggestion. The ALEX tool is excellent!

Check the out of pocket max…. I have PPO plan this year and had a kid but my OOP max is 9000 for family. So i am still getting bills!! HDHP is good as you get triple tax advantage account via HSA
