Looking for tips from seniors. I'm at A1 level at a litigation firm, stepping out of the deer-in-headlights phase. With the Partners assigning work to me in teams of 2-3, there's potential for growth. But with the sheer amount and depth of work on each case it's challenging to take on a more "adult" role. In the HR discussion, we both agreed on 30L CTC (10% Variable) and 1L joining bonus. But later after 2-3 days when they need to release the offer, HR is saying they got the approval for 28L CTC(10% variable) and 2L joining bonus.

Should I take that offer and look for other options or straight forward reject the offer and then look for other options?

Can HRs improve compensation after appraisal if the employee conveys that he expects a better package? Given that the employee good the best rating just the his current overall package is in the average range and not the best although he gets a good rating.

How long do companies take in general to release offer letter?
A company has shared the letter of intent with me and told they'll send me the offer letter in 3 days. It's been a week and they haven't sent me the offer letter yet. Is it possible that companies may put us on hold even after sharing the letter of intent? Or is this normal?
