What’s your reasoning besides lower rent?
I’m single and all of my friends live in the city, and the suburbs would be a lonely place. I’ve lived out in the suburbs before and was not a fan
If you WFH you should bump out of the suburbs. I'm in a similar situation and recently went from downtown Austin (1 bedroom) to about 15 minutes out of the city (2 bedroom) for literally half the rent.
You’re one person so you only need one bedroom. I share a one bed with a boyfriend and it’s cramped; but since you’re not sharing with another human, you should be fine.
Renting will always be throwing money into a trashcan every month and burning it unfortunately. Invest the extra $1k
2 bedroom if you work from home
Try to find a one bedroom + den or a 1 bedroom that has a dining room either of which you can use as an office space, but if it’s a one bedroom without a dedicated office space then I would go for a 2 bedroom.
