I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

16 weeks is not enough either. In reality it should be 1 year off anything less honestly doesn’t cut it. 12 weeks vs 16 weeks doesn’t make a big difference. 12 weeks vs 1 year is what would be a game changer
This is unfair... I’m also pregnant and stressing out about this too. Even tho I feel like at least this year I can negotiate WFH since for now we still have that. But 12 week infant is so helpless, it bugs me everyday how much we do not appreciate woman and mothers in this country and value early childhood healthy development. I’ve been trying to prepare myself for delivery and informing myself on what goes on.. and of the physical changes .. the bleeding the tearing the emotional toll on the mother itself, it’s so unfair to expect moms to just shut it and go back to work at 12 weeks, not only to mom but infant too. I’m all for paternal leave too but maternity leave and baby well-being should be number 1 priority which in our country it’s definitely not.. and I also don’t think it should fall on the businesses alone to make it happen, this basic thing like maternity leave should be aided by the government and be made STANDARD, not a “benefit”, at least job retention not even talking about being paid.. which I get is a benefit, but I see so many woman being forced into work place because they don’t want to lose their jobs. It’s shameful!
Also I think it’s ridiculous to think that this is a situation where man and woman are to be treated equally. Men do not give birth and do not suffer the physical and mental aspect of this situation, men are not the ones breastfeeding every few hours night and day to keep the baby healthy. Those are biological functions that are solely relevant to mothers. I think it’s wonderful to give fathers paternity leave but to treat it equally is strange at best. It’s not. I do like what Sweden?(forgot exactly which country does this) where they give both parents 12 months combined together and they can use it however the family thinks is best so 6 months for both at the same time or 6 month one and the the other, or mom 10 and dad 2. Family leave is so important and so overlooked here it’s SHOCKING!
