Of course it shouldn't be. But developers shouldn't be pedantic, creative directors shouldn't be douchebags, and copywriters shouldn't try to get me to read their novel either.
It will get you in the door faster so you can talk about your actual work.
The work comes first, but the good agencies open doors. They don't have to be huge, but they do have to be talked about.

Sorry i should rephrase: it may be valued higher, but should it be? Given that the value should be predicated on better talent coming from big name agencies.
I worked for both small a d big. It depends on when you startwd. If you worked in big one for a while and then got into a small one is one tbing. You will definitely be more skilled and experienced compare to the opposite when you come from small to large.
Does not mean that you do t know how, just that small places may not have all the right process flows in place.
