Paul knows. Paul doesn’t care. Neither does the crappy client who hired him.
Visual Storyteller
It’s probs Edelman. Oh no wait, they pay $65 per hour for CD and cap hours at 20 per week 🥵🥵🥵
Paul K is a cool dude. Don’t kill the messenger.
It’s bleak but be nice to PK he’s good people
Hmm. He once repeatedly contacted me out of the blue about a job opportunity. Once I replied and politely declined and suggested we stay in touch for other opportunities, nothing. I was apparently dead to him. Not a great first impression.
5 days in the office for 6 months doesn’t sound like freelance to me
PreCovid working style… very few people honor hybrid or remote nowadays.
Paul is probably also making $95/hour from this opportunity
Yep! Taking his 50%
Let them see the quality that gets them. Don’t bite fishies! I know the market is tough but we’ve got to fight to keep our rates up. Don’t let them undervalue what we do.
I know some people who would take it atm
Enthusiast
True. But also unfortunate.
I got a call about a $52/HR gig with Fingerpaint. Come on.
I'm a CD level copy guy. I told the recruiter to F himself.
If you’re not familiar with alcohol, you will be after taking this gig.
@cd op While I agree it’s not the most favorable for a freelancer, that’s the ask for this role. Are you going to look down on the person who has to take the role to remain working to pay the bills?
Are you expecting CD pay of $200-300/hour wages for all places big or small? It’s a long term role so there going to be concessions.
Assignments can be short or permalance. Plus the recruiter is probably going to have their fee on top of the wage when the final bill goes to the agency.
More power to you. I agree, agencies get what they deserve. But with the ever demanding and increasing expectation of today—gone are the large wages. AI is here and big wages are replaced with DOGE.
Senior creatives used to make 90-150/hr if they worked directly with agencies. Right now they get half that. And a lot of times some people get their project done overseas.
Stay at home and and watch YouTube for $0 an hour. See, I fixed it.
