Are you sure there isn’t a 1 in front of that number?
60k is not competitive for an undergrad campus hire let alone a b-school graduate.
60k is definitely competitive for some undergraduate hires
Low-margin industry that needs a lot of help from smart people
Buddy of mine was offered an Entry level rev management analyst for AA in Dallas; 50k and yes, that job description had “MBA preferred”
The question was basically “What MBA would take this role?”
They’re likely thinking non target MBA, e.g. Loyola Chicago, etc.
Depending on your university 60k can certainly be competitive for undergraduates.
60k was competitive for entry level consulting gigs 10 years ago.
50k and MBA preferred? They must be “preferring” that University of Phoenix!
Airlines are notorious for underpaying their talent
You all are nuts if you think 60k is not competitive for campus hires. There aren’t that many “high” prestige jobs out there and plenty of new undergrads would kill for a starting salary that high.
Why not prefer it? There’s desperate ppl that need to job with mba
Hmm, any other options come to mind if network strategy / revenue management seems interesting yet I don’t care to take a massive pay cut
But 50k in Dallas is probably like 60-65k in DC. So if you got 50k out of school in Dallas that's pretty good.
