I agree on on this - and Mirren is great and expensive! But I was more wondering about consultants who are starting to charge agencies a percentage finders fee instead of the clients. I’ve just run into my second one and curious if others are finding the same, and if so how it’s worked out. The current consultant in working with charges 10% of your year one net revenue.
When you say consultants, are you talking about the Pile & Co.s of the world or are you talking about people who sign up with the agency to drum up business for the agency and then take a % of contract as their fee?
If you’re talking about consultant orgs like Pile and SRI, no I’ve never heard of them charging the agency a fee. That would jeopardize their impartiality to the client and dilute part of their value proposition
You mean biz dev consultants? I haven’t used any but have looked into as much free info / podcast as I can. They are pricey and my agency isn’t in the position to do it. I think they are interesting. Some of it will likely be reflective of things you already do. But it’s good to hear affirmation or new ideas. I find that when I read their posts or listen to podcast I feel like it’s aimed at what to do when you are talking to a prospective client more than getting in the door. But I’m iin a mid size market and opening doors seems to be less of a thing at big agencies where more of the need is on closing/ winning s pitch. I’ve heard very good things about Mirren but it’s expensive.
I haven’t experienced this. But following as it is interesting!
