Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?
Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Let me tell you a secret. All of these companies pay roughly around the same. Come to D from EY and had several colleagues join me. You only get more money by leaving. I had plenty of colleagues from D, PWC, and KPMG at EY while I was there. The only difference is bonus and comp structure and how they divide their consulting practices
I always ended up jumping with a few others or to companies where I knew people so the transition was always smoother than someone who came with no network
I don’t know how good other firms are but I feel like health benefits and 401k at EY aren’t the best. Health is expensive compared to my last company and 401k match doesn’t vest or start for 3(?) years or something like that.
Salary number is the most attractive thing so maybe it’s a tactic to boost the base salary. I could be wrong though. That said I do think I’m well compensated overall.
No it isn’t better overall, but if you started at one Big4, you tend to get bigger increases jumping around.
