Why do I have to constantly follow up with recruiters about status? I know I’m not the only person looking for a job but it would be nice if the recruiter could provide updates without my having to ask. It’s very frustrating

Bc most of us are sh*t at follow. Humans really but yea it’s a problem. Personally, I make Thursday as my follow up day and tell people if they haven’t heard from me by noon to call me doesn’t seem to be a problem for anybody and we don’t miss each other.

Communication and managing expectations. Just shouldn’t be an issue. You aren’t the only one feeling this pain. Promise. 🤷

That is frustrating, maybe consider switching recruiters if that’s possible.

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.
