EY Deloitte PwC people - would you leave your current employer for a 15%-25% total comp difference? This translates to a 25-45k difference per annum, largely driven by bonus at the new firm (20-40%), much smaller than my current employer. They will usually ask who else you’re speaking with, and it’s usually in your interest to be honest (especially if there is a timing issue)
It probably depends on the urgency of the job req, but in general, the war for talent is such that they can’t write people off for being in demand.
Furthermore, I’d think twice about joining a company that tries to force you into signing with these kinds of tactics.
Currently interviewing w Facebook and Google. Told each Im in the cycle but not specifically who. Always have said there are no deadlines Im working against. Im now waiting for offer from Facebook and onsite for Google. How do I navigate?
1. Prepare for the Google onsite as you normally would (a lot)
1b. Depending on how far it is, you can tell Google that you have an offer scheduled to arrive soon (while indicating that they’re your preference), and want an accelerated process.
2. Wait until FB provides an offer (in writing), and try push out the sign date with reasonable sounding excuses.
