Now after clearing all the rounds when we meet for salary discussion i told him my real desired salary as per experience and market reseach
He told me that I quoted 9 LPA so we can not do more "unless you have any counter offer"

No, because -35k. Also, because non-tech. Tech is where you want to be now, especially with Product.
Honestly I’d love to become a PM (I don’t make 6 figures) but that pay cut would be too substantial for me. I could probably swing $5K a year but that would be my limit. I wish you luck with you decide. Ultimately your decision but keep us posted!

I would try to move to a PM role within the same company if possible, pushing to retain the same salary especially because of your domain experience.
If you are moving out of the org, push for either a non associate role arguing that that your experience as an analyst makes up for inexperience in product, and that the value at same salary as currently is a bargain for them, because PMs are usually comp'ed better.
Don't sell yourself short, if anything get something in writing on moving up in salary in 6 months based on competency in the role, with concrete steps on how to evaluate said competency.

Depends on what you’ll be working on and where you want to go - I took a 25K pay cut to 70K as well two years ago to take an APM role at a startup. Moved into a full PM position in 8 months and recently signed an offer that doubled my current salary at a top tech company in the US as a PM
Getting your foot in the door with PM experience is the most important thing IMO, your growth trajectory will more than make up the cut if you can sustain and money isn’t a big factor for you. But I will agree with the comments above about not moving into a tech company. What will you be working on there? Can you spin it in the future that you worked on a tech related product
Ty
Definitely not. Smaller, lesser known tech company is probably better than non-tech company. I’m not really sure what a PM at these places would do outside of maybe some e-commerce website management and maybe some data related PM
For career growth, consulting probably offers more than non-tech consumer goods companies. To have good opportunities as a PM, you also need to be paired with a strong engineering organization, something a Walmart will never have
Ty
Agree with everyone. I'm more concerned about the type of company, the role and the exit opps. Salary loss is very high, but recoverable and manageable depending on COL and expenses.
If you are in the Bay where there are a ton of startups looking for PMs, then no. $70k is too low to live here and there are better opportunities.
