Wondering how our work personas play into our real lives. I realized that because I have experience scheduling, planning and getting s**t done, I am often left with the bulk of these in my relationship and family. I am learning to put my feet down now and not do the extra work. I'm so tapped out from doing it daily, the thought of replicating it in other sphere of my life isn't appealing. I’m an auditor who recently made the switch to advisory. When I was in audit, I could predict my schedule. I knew when I’d be busy (i.e. during busy season or interim) so I didn’t make plans during those weeks or those weekends. In advisory, my schedule has become less predictable. Twice now, I’ve been told about last minute deadlines that have forced me to work over a weekend and late into the evenings, interfering with prior plans I had made. Is this normal in advisory?

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.
