Work life balance seems harder to find these days with constant pressure to be online and available but some companies still protect boundaries and understand people have families and lives outside of work. I am curious which companies you feel truly respect work life balance and don’t guilt you for taking PTO logging off after hours or having flexible schedules. Which employers are genuinely walking the talk when it comes to balance?

I’ve had a good experience with WLB at State Farm working as a software engineer.

Beazley has amazing reviews

I feel like WLB has been a priority at Liberty (at least in commercial lines). I get a lot of work, but I'm never stressed about taking time off, and never ask for PTO (we just tell everyone we'll be out).

Some departments and managers are better than others at encouraging this

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?
