Have definitely whipped out an HP 12C not sure it wowed anyone though
I use my 10bii on my iPhone multiple times per day. But I definitely don’t hand calculate standard deviation or beta—we have tools to that. So you learn how to calculate for the exam and then forget it the next day.
No, but understanding the math behind the formulas has helped me a lot.
Absolutely use mine all the time through my I phone via “ez calculators” app. Let’s say a client wants to give me 50k for the next 10 years, I project annual return and tell him/her the projected future value at year ten…or year 20, etc. it’s supper useful. Definitely not going to be 100% accurate but it’s a hypothetical that people love to see, and it has closed deals. It also has a function to email the client the results.
All the time; still do.
I will use it if out of the office to run quick numbers on projection. I don't think anyone has been "wowed" but appreciate a quick TVM calculation
I had a client for 20 years that is a doctor laughing ask me if that is the TI83 that I have used my entire career this week. I replied that it is. I do use it all the time.
I use my HP 17bii+ from college all the time. I also have the 10bii on my phone and used it just yesterday when someone asked about their estimated estate value based on certain assumptions in 30 years
Agree with WF1, though. They were not wowed, but appreciated the fact that I could give them the information.
Also - people ask I have “x”, I need “y” to retire, how do I do that…plug and chug. Gives them an answer. Helps them figure out how many more years they need to work. I can go on and on about how useful it is.
Love my hp12c.
I use the HP12c app on my phone all the time. Agree may not wow people but is a very useful tool to have.
Probably use it for some form of tvm calculation in over 50% of my appointments. Which came first, Excel or 12c??🤷🏻♂️
