The quickest way to get them to adjust is replying with the same misspell on their name. It may be petty but it works :)
My name gets autocorrected by outlook, so sometimes it’s not the sender’s fault
Mark = Mickey David = Davor James = Jamie
hahahahhaa
Similarly, I hate when people shorten my name. My name is in my signature, use that name.
My last name is also a first name, people call me by my last name at least once a month.. even people I've worked with for months
Sometimes I understand when they do it in an email like Accenture 6 mentioned. The surname comes first. But it's way worse in person. I've been called by either my first name or last name my entire life so I've just learned to respond to both, it doesn't bother me much at this point because I'm used to it.. But one time my client PM who I had known in person for 8 months called me by my last name to my face and I nearly lost my cool. Someone with the my last name once told me "when people call you by your last name think of it as your alter ego, someone you can blame everything on".. "oh I didn't do that must've been *insert last name*"
You would not believe how many people misspell my name as “Francis” when it’s very clearly in my signature and “to” field as “Frances” 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ (Francis is a male name, Frances is a female name)
If someone calls me any name that isn’t an insult then I’m okay with it, I’m sure it’s not on purpose!
