Would love to hear peoples thoughts on what market pros and cons are inevitable as a result of the SpaceX IPO. Do we expect funds to jump in early? ETFs? Should we think about jumping into tech specific ETFs? Would love to hear people’s thoughts and what they’re doing in preparation?

I have a feeling the markets could go up but also an inkling they’ll go down. Also possible that it will stay the same.

I am not doing anything. My index funds will be buying it in accordance with the index rules, and the consequences will be what they will be. I am not worrying.

Some indices have, others not. The changes were pretty subtle, because of the low float it will have. I believe the NASDAQ is the worst offender. I don't hold it. I hold total market indices that already had less selective seasoning rules.

There was a good episode of the Rational Reminder Podcast about this that went into more detail.

I believe that if SpaceX were to go public, the market would undoubtedly pay close attention, and many funds and ETFs would likely position themselves in related sectors in advance.

However, from an investment perspective, my primary focus lies on the long-term business model and profitability, rather than merely the short-term hype generated by the IPO itself.

Vanguard bases their index purchases on the public float so not much of an event for vti

Thanks this is helpful insight. I’d expect public float to be low given the amount of insider shares.

Being a mother, I have anxiety and nervousness about joining a service based company bcoz of doubts below.

2. How good is WLB at TW for a Lead Consultant? Approx working hours on a daily basis?
3. How flexible is TW for WFH?

I’m curious why more non-US citizens interested in FIRE don’t go live in a no/low tax jurisdiction even for a few years e.g. Dubai, some Caribbean islands. I get that some people will have family circumstances (e.g. elderly parents to look after) so it won’t be possible for them, but for a significant proportion it will be an option

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.
