I have a fair amount of retail experience and have created a bowl to help fellow consultants who are interviewing in retail and CPG. My experience is across a wide range of topics (primarily non technical) and would love to help folks get their dream job. Would be awesome if others can join and contribute their knowledge.

At that comp - I would.
$39K delta which is about $23.5K after taxes, divided across 26 paychecks = approx. net $900 less per paycheck.
If the remote gig comes with better WLB / stress in addition to no travel, might be worth it.

That’s a 15% drop in comp, if you know you don’t want the PPMD route, and the new gig is interesting work and provides growth and WLB - yes, I would

Cool. We are in same boat. I’m exiting at SM for a 10% drop, and I’m perfectly okay with it. Best of luck
Absolutely! There are definitely diminishing returns on compensation the higher your comp is. 250 vs 216 is not going to significantly change your life, and the freedom/WLB will likely be worth it

This one is tough. Do what’s best for you, OP!
Assuming remote work is industry, meaning less hours worked per day, then yes definitely. You’re probably getting paid more if you calculate at an hourly rate.

Agree, plus it gives you more time to work on a side hustle (if you’re into that)
I've just made a similar move (~$300K to ~$265K). Permanent WFH. Better WLB. Better benefits (probably worth 7-10K to me & the family). Opportunity to work on a side hustle and hobbies.
I've also been slashing my spending: house refi, paid off cars, moving to less expensive hobbies, etc.
So yes. I doubt I'll even notice the difference.
Are you a director at kpmg?
Yes

Yes

Consulting is remote now too. Why would you take a pay cut
But it’s not going to be forever.
Do you mind sharing yoe and group at kpmg? Are you comparing tc or just base, because I am sure bonus is better anywhere outside of kpmg.

Need for info. Would the WLB be significantly better?
I assume it’ll be better. And it is a permanent wfh.
100% yes, if everything else was tolerable too (content, role, culture)
