USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

I’ve worked at both and much prefer Amazon’s culture. In my experience nobody at Meta will lift a finger if it doesn’t impact their PSC but Amazon employees are generally pretty helpful. At Meta you’re expected to always be promoting yourself on workplace and have (usually BS) metrics to back it up.
At Amazon you need to ship. At Meta you need to always be _proving_ that you’re shipping.
Totall agree! I was in Amz, aws before and now in meta! Totally agree what you said
Meta. I’ll take the bad culture over a terrible one.
Meta. Amazon seems toxic.
Meta because our salaries are higher and culture is better
Probably depends on level and position, I make way more base salary at Meta and (when the RSUs aren’t in the tank) the vesting schedule is better

Meta is awesome
Is AMZN culture really terrible as everyone says? I rarely see any good comments about the firm. Would appreciate insight into rationale behind such sentiments as I’m considering applying there. Is it the leadership, WLB, or both?
Totally depends on team and manager - absolutely no complains here as well (L5 FEE)
I love working at meta.
Lmao I’m at AWS and I’m having the time of my life. We’re all young, we go out together. Everyone’s learning together. Manager is super chill and flexible with the hours. I would personally never work at Meta. Culture is great at the new hq, only thing is you have to be able to write!
