Wow.. super quiet in the bowl. I know this week was a super busy week for me. Now I just want hibernate.

Are things speeding up on your side or winding down in prep for the retail holiday season?

I was personally sick for half of the week, and I'm still not feeling my best. I'm normally a lot more engaged in here but I just haven't been myself. I think things are going to start speeding up soon, once I get back to being myself.

My week was busy enough to have gone by like a blur and your mention of hibernation makes me want to do exactly that. Tonight I'm just goofing around online and I may try to catch up on some reading. The rest of the weekend I think I'll just relax. I'm not expecting things to get any busier at work between now and the holidays, but who knows, now that I said I don't expect it I probably jinxed the whole thing.

Spouse and I are about to book a riviera maya vacation for early November 2021. We’re both vaccinated, we know we’ll need to produce a negative test. Any other reason it would be unwise to go? I want to make sure we aren’t overlooking any factors. Thank you!

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?
TIA

I have 32k miles with THY that are about to expire. Normally I'd go ahead and book a flight, but I can't project which countries might be locked down again 5-6 months from now (haven't accrued enough PTO to travel in near future). The only other way to keep the miles is to pay $10 per 1000 miles, as far as I know. Are there other strategies?

Is it crazy to switch a job while undergoing IVF?
I’ve been in my current role for almost 4 years. While I am generally happy, & have flexibility with time off for personal matters, there are things that bother me. I have an offer for way more money, manager title (which I want), much larger bonus & IVF benefit is better. However, I’m in the middle of stims and it is STRESSFUL. Part of me can’t imagine taking on a new role while I’m in the middle of this. But also feel like I can’t pass it up

I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

PwC Global Mobility and along with all ACs are sold to CD&R. PwC AC GMS will no longer be PwC anymore but will be a new company all together. What is your take on this? Also, what about the new hires joining "PwC" now and getting to know that they won't be part of the brand in the next 6 months?

As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat.
