Rising Star
Tipping is so 2023.
True lol
only during bad weather/rush hours to make sure someone picks it up
This makes no sense; you can only tip after receiving the order now….
Uh yeah, $3 for lunch, $6 for dinner, $10 if its raining. Stop being cheap.
I usually only order lunch from places that are super close, whereas dinner I’ll go up to a mile away.
No it’s added to the service fee now
Enthusiast
Nope ever since they implemented the change my orders are coming slower and more delayed than ever
Still? Never did to begin with
Lazy and cheap should go hand in hand, so if you are too lazy to pick up your food then you should also be too cheap to tip
right, so can either continue to skip lunch (at home) or go back to the office to skip lunch
This thread has showed me why America will never get rid of tipping. Who cares if it takes 5 minutes more to get your food - your overall cost is going down while workers are getting paid better. It’s a win win.
No
Damn I do lol. They only get an extra $2 now. Right?
They get paid $29/hr now.
Nope.

I cook at home, and don't need this erroneous expense.
Cool. Has nothing to do with the post.
The delays have gotten really out of control since the NYC change went into effect. Reconsidering my unlimited membership altogether. How did the delivery platforms not account for this?
It’s a disaster. I look at my GPS/tracker and see folks literally sitting outside my building to increase the delivery time since they’re paid by the hour now. One guy sat outside for 20 minutes and finally came up after I messaged customer service about it.
Largely not worth getting DoorDash anymore.
Yes…
What’s the change?

We pay slightly higher fees now to supplement the new $30/hr minimum wage law in NYC, so they removed the tipping prompt at checkout. You can only tip after delivery now. If you go to cities outside of NYC, they still ask you to tip before delivery.
Not able to on door dash anymore.
Im on a corporate plan and DD told us the tipping feature in NYC is not working at the moment.
Pro
Tipping when it was still prompted before you placed the order never actually made my order get delivered faster despite what the drivers try to claim online. When I tipped, the drivers still stacked deliveries with mine, so I stopped tipping after the change. It does not affect service at all, don’t believe what they say.

Nope
I have a serious question: today I ordered some medicine on GrubHub and I was given the old 10/15/20/25% tipping prompt rather than the new 2/6/8/10% tipping prompt. Does the wage increase not apply to deliveries for sundries (like advil)? Was it just for food?
Nope
