First- write down in exact details of time and place and the exact word for word exchange. Go to HR. Use her exact words about retaliation! Protect yourself and report her. Also look for a new job asap.
Pretend it never happened and start looking for a different job. You will never be able to trust this person and can’t work with her long term.
Also, many modern copiers have memory/ hard drives, that store images of every document scanned. If she did 'scan' herself, there will be proof.
ur job is at risk.
if u see opportunities to move to another department, do that.
also remember about advantage of 1st mover.
i would go to HR and share this story asking for advice, possibly documenting it via email. but at any case dont leave this job witjout good compensation $$.
you can say it was traumatic experience
Go to HR immediately and report. Do not talk to her outside of documented conversations either in writing or recorded calls. Look for a new job.
I know of a person who was harrassed at their job, and took the complaint to HR but only after contacting an attorney, and HR had to send a representative to any meeting they were in together. She kept her job while she sued the company and her boss. They did not indemnify him. She got a 6 figure settlement. Then quit.
Im saying all of this to say: CYA. Get representation and them see HR. Do not quit.
I would talk to HR and hope they have cameras.
