Taxes brackets raised for inflation as they do every year. This is technically a tax cut. What do you mean “yikes”?

like

You’re right about the tax cut aspect, but Social Security’s tax’s upper limit also goes up. If your income is above that threshold and your income is not outpacing the 4.4% growth 176,100 from168,600 it’s a slight tax increase…. $465 if you are an employee… if you are self employed, double that.

Uh this is effectively a tax cut what are you worried about

Be sure to vote according to your complete lack of understanding of our tax system, everyone! 😂

Go to the source, IRS website. It’s public and free.
May not be after January 2025 but take advantage of your freedom to access public and govt websites now ;)

So we get a tax cut, then?

I don’t get the yikes? It was a good announcement unless I’m missing something??

like

This is great news! Also not new. IRS does adjust for inflation. We still hit the top tax bracket but less incremental dollars taxed.
In what situation is this a “yikes” moment? Genuinely curious…

Wait…isn’t that a good thing? Lol

I’ve always been a big saver minimum 15% to maxing out my 401k since I graduated college. I’m married to someone who thinks 6% is enough and likes $$$ cars. Other than the cars, they dont really spend money. For the married 🐠, how do you have the conversation with them that what they are doing isn’t enough? I try to guide them and say you want the $$$ cars but the salary you have won’t get there and you’re going to have to find a job that gets them the salary…. Then the fight starts.

I’m really thinking about getting a second job to supplement my income. I make 90K a year including a small bonus but I want to make more. I’m 7 years out of college and I just feel like I should be making at least 6 figures by now. I love the company I work for. I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. I’m thinking of maybe finding a small company that needs help with collections or receivables but it’s so hard to find a job like this that can be done after work hours. I don’t want to double dip.

Is there anything I can do to come up with ideas and make more impact in these meetings? Could there be something I’m not paying attention to? Any advice will be appreciated.
