Planning software- does anyone know of software that is good for younger clients? I use moneyguide pro but it does not seem to be made for clients that are coming in for planning over questions like can they afford a house or other short term goals.

You can set a short term custom goal in money guide pro.

Just make it a custom goal to save a down payment by 20xx and the add a custom mortgage goal after that for 30 years (make sure you use 0% inflation)

like

I agree that cash based planning tool works better for younger clients than goal based. Try eMoney or Naviplan.

like

I'm an avid supporter or planning software

But

Sometimes you just need to pull out a pad of paper.

I had in years past used Profiles, EchoWealth, then Navi plan, and firmly positioned with eMoney for the last four years with great success. It doesn't do everything that you need visually... So we will use supplemental resources and reports including our own internal spreadsheets for visual aid occasionally.

Try RightCapital.

I struggle with this too. Navi plan has its negatives but it’s what I use.
