Good point, thanks you!

Just don’t live in Murray Hill.

If you’re looking at Manhattan, you can probably find decent value in Hell’s Kitchen or FiDi, but East Village and LES will probably be the most fun.

Long Island City, Astoria, and Williamsburg are also good options.

like

Murray Hill is where every annoying frat bro/sorority girl moves when they first come to nyc. Sports bars with TVs everywhere and generally no gritty, New York culture.

It’s not optional

Depends what’s your base and what’s your budget

Base is 175k, I would like to stay below 3k per month

Why definitely? Could be a T2 for that base range, and doesn’t even have to be post MBA.

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

At what point do you draw the line on WLB? Working insane hours on a long/term project with what feels like no end in sight. It’s not sustainable but clearly expected. Could you get fired for drawing lines in the sand and saying (example) “come 8:30 every night I’m logging off”. That’s a 65 hour work week as-is but I currently am up until midnight working consistently. For context I’ve been rated as a strong performer consistently and am not new to the job so it’s not a lack of understanding.

2) a product specialist role at Meta (FB). This told role product management, it’s analytics heavy. $107k base, 10% bonus, $30K stock.

At the end of the day, TC for both is similar. As far as exit opportunities I’m not sure what is better, so looking to get other people’s opinions.
