who else thinks about how many jobs you wanted that would’ve been disastrous for your career and development had you actually gotten them? or how many jobs you got laid off from that actually would have ruined your career had you “succeeded” there? i think about it and it blows my mind. it’s so hard to see the bigger picture in the moment. and it always amazes me how you can “fail” upwards and realize how wrong some past experiences truly were for you

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. Now i have better offers from pwc n kpmg
10lpa fixed.

Hi friends of fishbowl! A year ago I told myself no more agencies. Then I got a job at another agency and I’m basically hating my life more than ever right now. This place is not good for me mentally and I’ve only been here for 90 days. I should’ve listened to my gut but here we are. So my question is what job titles should I be targeting as a senior project manager if I want to go to to client side?

Serious question: why work in advertising if you’re not a creative? I know plenty of smart account people, strategists, data analysts etc. who would almost certainly make more money and enjoy more autonomy in a different field, or at least in-house. What’s the allure if you don’t represent the product?
