You know for years I listened to techies bragging about their high total comp. But the thing that surprised me was that no one really mentioned (or considered) that they were living in really expensive cramped housing...with charming features like sewer backups, etc. Now it looks like comps have fallen to unreasonably low levels while rents have doubled. I personally tried to optimize my comp vs cost of living. Now I'm wayyy ahead. It makes me wonder how long before housing occupancy drops?
