Young attorney 3 years in. My first firm split and folded so i left. My second firm was toxic, and caused me health problems because i tried to work crazy hours to meet demand. Left for my health. My third firm is great, but I only make 55K a year performing a myriad of attorney and paralegal tasks. My dream job just opened up doing regulatory compliance for a major university in my state. Offering 82K a year. I’ve been at this firm 8 months. Am I crazy for wanting to move on?

Are you in the US? If so, what market?

You would be crazy not to take this offer. Huge jump in comp. Universities do tend to be lower paying (so maybe not a lot of upside) but often provide great benefits.

Apply IMMEDIATELY. Wait only as long as it takes for you to write a good cover letter. Ask the friends you have there if they have a referral link to apply through. If they don’t, ask if they’ll reach out to the hiring manager to put in a good word for you. Connections make a world of difference and it sounds like you have a really good chance to make an important shift in your career. Fingers crossed for you!!!

If you have an offer in hand you’d be silly not to take it.

Go go go!

Of course not. Sounds like a good move for your situation.

What is the insurance landscape like compared to canada? Anyone working in new York state? Is there a lot more red tape? What is the pace of work like? If anyone is willing to have a phone call that would be greatly appreciated. I am in environmental.

My husband is also in tcs he is moving to onsite in Jan and my travel is also planned mid next year.
I am giving 12hour daily in my job to adjust in new profile. And affecting my health now.
Shall I quit the job and move with my husband with on dependant visa? Or i shall continue to get pressurized and wait for my onsite?
Plz suggest.

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
