Compensation conversations are coming up and I’m thinking I won’t get a raise because I started mid-late Q2. If this happens, would it be fair to ask to for a raise at mid-year reviews (obviously if it’s deserved, which I’m going to work for)? Any advice for entering these types of convos at a new place?

Thoughts on leaving ibanking after ~18 months without next role lined up? Currently am miserable (and have been for quite a bit), am not learning much and don’t have time to properly recruit. The costs of the job (personal health, relationships, etc) are no longer justifiable. Don’t care too much about the paycheck/bonus and am able to cover living expenses. Has anyone done this and successfully found a job after? Not trying to stay in IB/PE/HF (leaning towards WM/AM). Thanks.
I just joined a US HF from one of iBanks this month but the bonus review is based only on this December unfortunately. Generally speaking, how much it will be?? I regret not negotiating on this point before accepting the offer letter.

Switching firms before applying to business school? I'm currently trying to figure out whether I should stay at my current firm (good job, okay comp) or take a job at a different firm (better comp, somewhat better job, better location). I'm in the final round of interviews. I plan on applying to business school in the fall of 2021. Do you think it's foolish to switch jobs this close to applications? Should I tell them I plan on going to b-school? Will it hurt recommendations?

What’s the best website to see real salary information? I am interviewing for a lateral move on a Institutional Sales position and want to see how much people are getting paid so I don’t get screwed. I tried looking at the H1B salaries, but there is only 1 for 2020 at this new bank.
Does anyone use a “career coach” not necessarily a head hunter but someone who helps you get thinking. This is potential end goals, these are steps to take in your career, these are where your interests lie, this would be a good fit you see the idea. The other side of helping find the job, negotiating salary and other services would be the nice to have but I’m looking more for the coach. If you have used them what’s your experience? Worth the cost?

Is it worth to leave my current position starting in March 2021 for a 33% increase in compensation (slightly higher salary, Covid stipends and signing bonus)or to stay at current company and find a job through my network that will match the outside offer? I would much rather stay at my current company since I feel like I have a lot of control of where I can go in the next year, but would love outside perspective. (Also, the offer is a lateral move, so I wouldn’t be moving up in seniority either)

Also any general tips or things I should be aware of. If anyone could share a model too that would be awesome! Thanks for the help.

Looking for feedback: In a leadership position with responsibility to direct sales strategies and enablement for a product category. My issue is that my new boss, who micromanages my every move, gave me a slap on the wrist for “breaking chain of command” to speak with my VP. Previous boss allowed me to speak freely with all leaders.
