Best day hike around DC area?
About to head to the HC for a role in ProdOps and Strategy in Mountain View. 4 YoE at MBB, no competing offers. Recruiter gave me a form that asks expected comp.
Levels.fyi has only PM salaries. I haven’t been told the level but expect it to be L4.
What total comp would you expect for this role? Any advice would be super helpful, as I’m a bit lost.

Got a notification from Honeywell that my application is “under consideration”. Does this mean that it is actually under consideration, as in it didn’t get kicked out by ATS? Or is it just an acknowledgment that it was successfully submitted? It took about 3 business days to get the notification.

Unless you are paid hourly it is pretty unrealistic to expect to be compensated for that…
If you are paid hourly though - by all means.
Unfortunately I’m salaried.
Just take it back 1 hour at a time with a break here and there, no one will notice or care as long as you're performing well
This!!!!
In 15 years, I have never been paid for weekend travel time. That’s why I don’t travel on the weekends for work.
Are you in charge of your schedule? I would just schedule a return flight Friday morning like 10am and take the rest of the day off for “travel.”
I’m salaried and it’s understood at my work that if we work weekends (trade shows, research etc) we count those days as PTO for the future. It’s not official but it was established early on.
Usually you wouldn’t get comp.
In my experience most people would not work a full 5 days if flights involved.
Most common would be to leave for your flight home Friday morning/lunchtime.
Due to their preferred airlines and common flight schedules to the area, I fly out on Sundays between noon-2pm and my flight back home leaves around 4-5pm on Friday. This means I’m spending pretty much all of Sunday traveling for work (unless I want another flight option that lands after 11pm but then by the time I get a rental car, drive to the hotel, and check in it would be quite late.
I’ve never been comped for travel time outside of normal work hours. Best thing to do if looking to be compensated in a sense as a salaried employee is schedule your required travel during work hours. I pay for the plane Wi-Fi and expense that. Best I’ve gotten.
Thanks - that helps!
No. Unless your hourly.
The policy may be different for different industries. In wealth mgmt, travel is often part of the job description for most front office roles. It’s a sacrifice and part of the job.
If it is part of your job, then yes. The company should reimburse you. But you can check your contract and the company policy.
No, I do not get comp time. I am a salaried worker.
