I read on here a while back that your career “doesn’t really start” until you graduate from college. I’ve been working in accounting for a while but am finishing my degree next year. I am currently a staff accountant and have had completed financial close, forecasting, budgeting, and internal audits. Thoughts on this? I am anticipating my salary to go up tremendously once i graduate and start on the CPA. I just don’t want to her my hopes up if this indeed is the case

A investment management firm looking to hire me to do a/p and other staff accountant duties. Pay is 70k plus bonus. It’s Located in the city. Should I negotiate more? Is that city salary for someone out of college? I’m located in New Jersey.

Some recruiters are f**king clueless. I made it clear what my salary expectations are and then they try to push me into this staff accountant position paying 60k, which would be a 5k pay cut and I have 2 years exp about to be promoted to senior. Now she's giving me the runaround how I won't get a senior position in industry after I've told her I had interviews for senior positions already paying 85k+

Looking to get out of public accounting and applied for a Staff Accountant position. The company is known for having a great culture and I’m thinking the schedule will be much better. I’m thinking the compensation will be similar in the new position as what I’m making now so I wouldn’t be getting the normal jump in pay people expect when leaving public accounting. If I were to be offered the position, should I take it? Should I expect a better position if I’m looking for an accounting type role?

Remember when Fauci said we didn't need masks then said we did but only N95 masks, but then said any face covering will work. Then said if you're vaccinated you need to double mask. Then said you can single mask. Then said no masks if you're vaccinated. Now the CDC says you need a 3rd vaccine shot to "greatly" prevent delta variant. But no, EVEN if you're vaccinated you can get Covid. Like f off. This is not exact science clearly. I have taken 2 shots but now I refuse to listen to this BS.
