I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? Does anyone have any advise on how to become a staff video editor at a creative production company? They usually don't have any "job openings" listed on their site.

I have 5+ years of experience working at a creative ad agency, but much of the work was pitch/sizzle videos (yuck).
