Thoughts on PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certs? I have approximately 9 years of HR exp and my bachelors and MBA. Been debating on whether or not I need to fulfill my urge to get a certification. Wanted to get some thoughts around whether you have a similar background and opted to or opted to not get their certification? Thanks!

Any advice on favoritism within your department? We have an HR personnel who's never on site but everyone else is required to be on site. She always complains that she's too busy for this or too busy for that and we do the same exact thing. So whatever she doesn't want to do gets pushed off to us. EVERYONE complains about her and is frustrated. It's been brought to my director's attention by numerous people but he just defends her. I'm not sure who I can go to now.

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm an optimistic person, but it is so hard when everyone around me is so negative. What's the worst that happens, you get fired and you go work somewhere else.

Recently started a new position. Great company, team and training has been smooth and over all transition. Unfortunately the commute is already overwhelming and won’t work long term. I’m tying to decide on whether I should resign to focus on job search or stay and job search.

& what do I tell potential employers about my current work situation. Do I say I’m unemployed or be truthful.

I’ve been promised a promotion since Jan. ‘22, and each month it seems to get “delayed because of finance issues with client” (huge multinational corp.) and other issues with in house HR/finance depts. I absolutely love my job, my boss, perks, benefits, & it’s all remote. I can’t shake the feeling I’m being led on. Last update they gave was Oct. now they’re saying it won’t be until Dec. I’d hate to leave but I feel like it’s the only way to move up. All thoughts/similar experiences welcome. Thx.

One of our clients took our idea and basically sublet it to different brands without our knowledge. Technically speaking, there are no rules against this, but it still feels like an icky thing to do. Thoughts?

Have you ever been reached out to by a recruiter about a position that is not really in your wheel house? It’s part of my job but not the entirety of my job. I’m looking for an Outbound BDR to cover the EMEA region with language skills. Preferably French, Spanish or German. You will be joining a very high performing team achieving 176% of FY22. Salary is extremely competitive in the market and will range based on experience highest earners take home 6 figures.

I am almost 23 and don’t know much about the investment and savings vehicles/strategies that I should be using. IRAs, Roth IRA’s, long-term investments, how much I should be contributing/saving for financial success, etc. Any suggestions? I currently have $4,000 in savings, and a few thousand sitting in checking that I use regularly but try to not spend too much. Rent is $1600. Likely looking to go to grad school in the next 2-3 years.

How much does company size and ownership matter when considering the corp. dev. experience at the mid-senior level. Eg. Publicly traded versus PE owned. Or F100 company versus national company with niche focus (focuses on one segment or product)
