Have you ever taken a job you know you will hate because you needed the money right away? I have a family to take care of. I don't want to be plowing through our savings for selfish reasons like my mindframe at work, but I don't want to make our lives worse by being miserable. It's a matter of really ruining some of our financial future if we don't get money soon.

I was brought on a project to assist procurement and ap with their transition to new erp. However, I see many issues that get brought up to me in meetings around more strategy based work or process changes that are not in scope for my project. I’ve been on the bench with less than 10% utilization for 3wks now. I’m a first year and the past month has been slower with not many new projects coming in. I do see a few new projects come in every week but I’m not getting staffed on them. Should I be worried? Should I ask my PM if I should be worried? We’re in a pretty small group less than 20 people

Boomerangs — did anyone say they were going to “fast track” you back into the firm (you were going back to)? What did that process look like in your experience? How “fast” was it really for you (as opposed to being referred/applying through normal channels)? Days? A week? Weeks? Or still about a month?

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?

I left an omnicom agency for a Publicis one. My new benefits cost me 250 a paycheck (medical, dental, vision) for my spouse and kids. At omnicom it was 630 per check. That’s fuckin robbery right there.

"People just want it to work" is a thing clients have said about the product the company I work for makes. It's true. And it's all over. I usually think it's because Agile's method is what everyone thinks works but so much stuff across all tech areas seems to be released broken and then never fixed or fixed way too slowly. Anyone else feel this way? Has Agile worked for you and your clients?

Looking for some advice - I'm thinking about going back to school in the next few years for my MBA and I'm wondering if I should stay at my firm for another year until I get promoted to consultant (level that most MBAs come in as) or if I should not bother and leave next year as a Senior Associate?
