Hi!! I’m an HR Coordinator currently (about two years of experience) but my job has so many responsibilities and tasks I’m beyond burnt out. It’s truly impossible to focus on one task because things are constantly being thrown my way. I’ve heard whisperings of a promotion or raise, but my workload is already too much, I don’t know if I’d want to accept more responsibility. Is it normal to feel like you have just as many responsibilities as your superiors who make 30k+ more than you?

These days, when going to an interview, do you bring your portfolio? If yes, what medium? On an iPad, laptop...print?? Halp!

My current shop has such kind & creative folks, but the AM department is a bit of a hot mess. They seem to struggle with the basics of their jobs, all the way to the top of the department. They don’t know what they don’t know and don’t care to learn. We can help educate them on process until the cows come home, but we can’t teach them how to do their job …cont’d

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

How would you go about asking a potential employer about working hour expectations, like being on-call or working 8+ hours a day? It’s Friday night at midnight and I just got out of work. I am new to FPP defense. So far it’s soul crushing. I feel like a robot just doing the same pattern pleadings and discovery over and over. If I try to be creative or ask questions I get the response that I should not recreate the wheel… basically just cut and paste. My brain feels like it’s going to rot doing this work. Does it get better or do I need to plan my exit to a different field ASAP?
