I was wondering what’s the usual pay rise one gets with a promotion as an underwriter. I am an associate underwriter due to get promoted to underwriter 1

Question for those that are familiar with how severance pay works. I received a package a while back and was paid bi-weekly severance. The payments ended a few months ago but just the other day I had a severance deposit. Curious if it’s possible to get additional payment at this point or does this look like a mistake? I know the logical answer might be to just call but I’ll be honest in that I am still looking for a job and this would definitely help me. Thanks for your advice!

A non profit just asked me how they can somewhat reduce the risk of employees stealing from them when they have foreign employees that work overseas in largely cash economies and may not receive receipts.

Any thoughts on some helpful procedures they can put in place.

Hypothetical: let's say I take 100,000 today after my taxes and invest it in a brokerage account for 30 years (I'm 25). If we assume 7% interest rate it comes out to be 750k. If I draw below the 80K threshold for capital gains each year (married filing jointly) then that whole thing is tax free right? Am I missing something? I know we need to assume taxes stay the same/similar, and I can live off of 70K at 55. But anything else?

That feeling when you’re tired and burnt out, and don’t think going to another agency will do the trick. Anyone else get that feeling of hopelessness or is it just me?

So, I am a high performer and had to cover for two very senior roles for many months due to quick high turnover. We already had our talks. I found it funny when I was told, “oh and by the way… as you can see we increased your bonus to thank you for covering for so and so.” $500 increase………. Am I silly to think this “thank you” increase is a joke? No salary increase and only $500 thank you for covering for two additional jobs. Am I unreasonable to think the work I covered for wasn’t appreciated?

I need to make a will. I have used the services ACN has to create my own will but I don’t know how Ironclad it would be. I have kids so I need to make sure guardianship is solid in the will. What kind of lawyer would I need to go to for a will? An estate Lawyer? I have no clue where to start.
