Hey everyone! So, I’m aiming to switch from a contract position (my current job) to a B2B remote job . I’m from Portugal and I’ll be thankful if you can tell me your experiences with remote B2B positions 🙂
I am trying to land a role as a human resources business partner and I'm wondering which certification would be the best for me going forward. Phr? Shrm? Thoughts? Thanks!
If you could ask for anything at your firm what would you ask for? (Something realistic but a stretch)
Any insight on transitioning from generalist litigation practice to the FTC or a regional office of same? Looking for more fulfillment and ideally to specialize in my legal practice which is currently just general litigation.
Thinking of leaving private practice for a state government job. Anyone who has done this, can you weigh in on your experience? Any regrets?
Good billing realization rate for a first year attorney? I was told to get to 90% but this seems high
Need some help regarding sales quotas. Can management increase your quota solely because you’re doing well and exceeding it? I’ve been here less than a year, and have since established my capabilities with sales, and my numbers now put me in at number 3 highest selling sales rep of the entire company. My quota has now been changed 3 times since being here, with the latest increase being a jump of 2x what my previous quota was, just because I had a good month. Is this normal/fair?
How much do you pay per month for your vehicles (just car payment)? I pay $782/m for two cars and am trying to gauge what other attorneys are paying.
I’m a young professional with 3 years of Sales experience seeking advice on how to find meaning in being a salesperson anymore? Starting to feel like this isn’t rewarding or “essential”. If you’ve felt this way before what did you do?
I started about 6 months ago in a new position in a smaller town/city. I recently ran into a partner at an firm that does primarily ID. We chatted and they extended a soft offer which would equate to about a 37% base raise and the opportunity for bonuses. It’s a small community and I don’t want to tarnish my reputation early on in my career, but the increase in pay makes me think I it would be absurd for me to stay. Thoughts? I was considering talking to my current boss to get their opinion…
I would like to make a change from a Big tech corporate to a smaller one and also in PRE IPO.

I am looking for greater impact and professional growth.

Does anyone have any advice on getting into white and case as a first year lawyer? (Non t14 school, Canadian)
I have a team member who has a tendency to miss deadlines, is reluctant to take on tasks which they don't like or refuses to participate in company-wide mandates w/o me & the other team members validating the why's. Prior to joining my team, this behavior was alluded to but never told to me directly. Now I'm seeing it. I've discussed missed deadlines which are acknowledged but w/o permanent resolution. I'm going to give her a verbal warning in the upcoming review. Other suggestions?
I just started practicing and I get anxious before some hearings, which can sometimes throw off my train of thought. Looking for tips on how to control anxiety in the courtroom.
Legal treatise author/editors -- Anyone have experience taking over as author/general editor of a large legal treatise? This opportunity came across my desk to take over as editor of an existing treatise, which could be a good opportunity... or a real chore. Mainly involves corralling contributing authors to update their chapters, reviewing that work, and coming up with new chapter topics. There would be royalties, but nothing too meaningful. And I'm skeptical of any real biz. dev. value...
Hello! I'm looking for vendor recommendations for Manager and Leadership Trainings! Anything helps!
How important is a personality test for a sales role, is this a very important criterion to decide on a candidate.
I recently did one and was the first time. The video interview before that went well and waiting to hear from HR.
Could somebody throw some light? Am a bit worried.
At what age should I decide on settling for a company? Just turned 26 and made SC at Deloitte and wondering if I should stay or try for a pay bump at another B4
Genuinely curious, why are you in consulting? There are other jobs where you could work 40 hours and make the same if not better money. What’s your story?
Anyone working for Unisys India or any of your friend working there ? How’s the company overall, work life balance ?
What’s the best sunscreen? Currently using Black Girl Sunscreen but looking for something non-chemical

How is traveling from Denver? Thinking about a move, but if travel resumes nervous about elevation changes
There have been a lot of posts in the law and big law blog about legal recruiter comp. It seems to range a lot (saw second-hand info from $60k to over a million). Also saw someone say the “average” recruiter makes more than a 5th year biglaw associate (which I think would mean $400k+). Can anyone provide ballpark numbers? Considering eventually moving to recruiting, but couldn’t leave to do it for $60k.
In & Out, please come to NYC
I'm a younger plaintiff's side attorney (31). Does anyone else feel like white attorneys give you a particularly harder time? Like unreasonably denying clear facts, or trying to fish for a way to sanction you? Usually it's solo defense attorneys that get extreme with it, but I've seen some questionable stuff from BigLaw too. Hopefully I'm not the only one.
Neighborhood Q: I'm looking for a place near Prospect Park & QRBF trains. I'm still learning about BK neighborhoods & was curious about this area (PLG/Flatbush) & Gowanus. I did see some of the units coming up are close to the hospital where the red block is; someone in here brought up the extra siren noise that brings.
I found a unit bordering Gowanus/Park Slope. I just started reading about the Gowanus canal toxicity & EPA clean up. Would you recommend staying away from the area?
What is your best practice to fill ITAR positions without violating the Immigration and Naturalization Act given the DOJ’s guidance last March?
Serious question: why do people in the NE still think smoking is cool? I've worked in agencies all over the country and the amount of smokers in NYC (most of whom are originally from the NE) is unreal
Low billable, low pressure work in patent lit, tech trans or privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a patent litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Just feeling the burn out; 2000 hours of billables a year just isn’t sustainable for me long term. Money isn’t a huge issue.
I'm premier silver on United and gold on American. Will Delta match? If yes, which airline should I use for the match?
