Not a great climate to move elsewhere. Either you move as a Day 1 partner (if anyone will take you) and you step into a recession with huge pressure to bring in business, or you hang in there at your existing firm another year. I would opt for the latter unless you've been given some firmer guidance

Yes. But this is my first time being nominated for elevation so I’ll give it at least another year if I dont get it this year. And honestly my hours sucked due to family health issues so I would understand if it didn’t happen this year for me.
I think you’d probably have to lateral as an associate and then earn partner. Lots of factors, with the main one being what is the reason you didn’t make partnership?
Unless you’re a marketing wizard, your resume markets itself, or your firm has enough work that the above don’t matter, wouldn’t you prefer to just stay associate forever and not take the initial partnership pay dip?
